At some point I was going to have to pick up here, or never anymore. Over the month and a half since getting back, past graduation, past Paris with the parents, past moving between 2 rooms and the possibility of living alone, new neighbourhood with an entirely different vibe in a different side of town, fancy new gadgets that mean everything and should mean nothing to me, a blackberry a Canon500D and a macbookpro, of which I am guilty sometimes of playing favourites (how many attention spans can one devote to gadgets?!?!), past my first time in Germany and Oktoberfest, now into the 3rd week of classes and wilting away the whole time by the prospects of NON STOP WORK TILL WEEK 10, classes everyday, 8 essays and 4 presentations, etc etc. People are different at this university, people seem nicer and more upfront but also countless times more hardworking- a refreshing break from the snooty, middle-class cross-section of whites in all my classes previously where I always felt singled out by race and by accent, but gone are the days I felt secure being the only one on top of my work at certain fortuitous times of the year.

Blah blah blah, I wonder why I even bother anymore. I need photos, exploit fully the many functions I suspect the camera is capable of but my brain is as yet incapable of handling, I need to go out more, read less macroeconomic theory and more international colonial history, sleep more and get over this 2-week long flu.
